Nowadays Facebook is littered with a ton of useless/silly applications, however there are very few of those applications which can actually be of use. Memorable Web Addresses for Profile, Page, or Group is one of those useful applications. MWAPPG for short, allows you to create an easy to remember link to your profile and enables you to share your profile with your friends, post it online, and make yourself accessible to the outside world (outside of Facebook that is). The guide below will walk you through the process of setting up your external link for Facebook. If you have any questions or know of other ways to this, please post them below.
NOTE: I’m using the new profile on Facebook
1. Log in to Facebook and go to this Address, the Memorable Web Addresses for Profile will open, click on Go to Application.
2. You will be prompted to Add Application to your Facebook page, click on the Add Application button
3. You must Allow access to your profile via the application to work. Click Allow
4. You can skip this section by clicking the [SKIP] link below.
Note: If you have issues with this or other applications it may be due to the new profile you are using.
5. Since this is the first time you use this application you will need to create a link that can be accessed from the outside, click on the Click here to create one link.
6. Type in the name that you would like to use for your address and enter your email (optional) for future updates.
Note: This will be the name used at the end of the link and it will be public, so make sure it is something that you don’t mind your mom or boss reading.
7. You can chose to help spread the word by sending your friends a link to the application or you can skip this step if you like.
8. You will be taken to your page, make note of the address as this will be the address you will use to share your profile with others.
Note: You may be taken to a page (see below) that tells you that you don’t have the Profile link installed, click on the No thanks take me straight to <Name> profile link
