Getting paid just for taking pictures seems like it’s too good to be true, but in reality it’s not with the new company Gigwalk. Gigwalk will pay you anywhere from $3 and up to $50 or more just to take a picture or video using your iPhone. How can they pay you for such a simple task? Let’s take for example the first beta customer for Gigwalk, TomTom. TomTom has tons and tons of maps for every city in the world. Would it be cheaper for them to send someone out to make verify problems with their maps at every problem location in the world? I don’t think so! It would be much easier for them to have people who are walking by the location to snap a picture or video with their iPhone for just a couple of bucks.

There are tons of other possibilities for companies to use Gigwalk. You can have someone make sure check a problem traffic light, verify road signs, test a wireless signal, or even check a stores quality. Now most gigs are pretty small and simple, but some can become more complex. This is an easy way to make $50-$100 extra a month. It’s by no means a way to make a solid amount of money, but it’s a fun way to earn a couple extra bucks. You can download the Gigwalk app here. Gigwalk is limited to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston and Miami for the time being.
