Host Your Own Dropbox-like Service with RubyDrop

Although it is not ready for primetime, RubyDrop looks like a promising Ruby project that has a lot of potential. It’s essentially a Dropbox clone (in functionality) that allows just about anyone to keep files synced among several devices using Git to handle file tracking and remote file syncing. To run RubyDrop you will need RubyGems and Git.

As the developer states on the GitHub page, the project is still in its infancy and a bit messy, so don’t expect a Dropbox app any time soon. More information on the project can be found in the GitHub repository.
