Google keeps making it easier to switch to the cloud, today’s update allows users to drag and drop files when uploading to Google Docs. All you have to do is click on the Upload button and drag files from your computer to the browser window in the drag and drop files section. This feature is currently supported on Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.
The second feature introduced is a carryover from Google Spreadsheets. You can now use the Compact controls view with the document editor. All you have to do is click View > Compact controls to regain some of that precious screen space used by the title bar (see below).
You can also hit Ctrl Shift F (PC) and Cmd Shift F (Macs) and stay away from menus.
