A lot of Google Docs users were dissapointed when Google decided to pull the plug on offline access of documents stored in Google Docs as well as the ability to edit said Docs without an internet connection. In early 2011, that all changes. Google promises to deliver offline support for Google Docs using a revamped engine which takes advantage of HTML5.
Along with this announcement and that of the online store, Google also officially made available the Google Docs App that can be accessed via the Chrome Web Store. Exciting day for Google as they get closer to bringing the cloud to a computer near you.
Do you miss offline access? I certainly hope that we also get Google Sync or similar with all the documents stored in Google’s servers.
